I'm a proffesional photographer and D80, D700 and few lens user. In November 2008 I dropped a lens and one of the glasses cracked. I eventually got it back but I couldn't stand:
1) They weren't prompt. In my case it was 15 days longer than the fixed date. For a professional its unacceptable.
2)Problematic contact. Its shocking that one needs few hours to phone through. Sometimes they respond to e-mail messages after a week.
3) Even if one manages to phone through, he will receive contradictory informations. And I'm paying for that!

After such a service I didn't want to send this lens back there when experienced some focusing problems. I found a non-authorised service in my town and had the lens fixed within a week.
Why can't Nikon service work like that?
