When buying this popular lens, I didn't notice that the camera after going to stanby mode was immediately turned back into normal 'ready to work' mode. I noticed that on a photoshoot location. I checked my camera body with other lenses. It was the 70-300's fault.

Despite opinions, I claimed a warranty repair on the lens, hoping that I would be lucky enough to get it back quickly. Unfortunately, it came back to me after about one and a half month, couple days before an important business trip (then I thought I was lucky). The fault was fixed but... the VibrationReduction didn't work and the lens behaved odd in AF mode. It went back to the service, where it spent another 1,5 month. It came back fault free and I started to enjoy using it, over three months after purchase.
