Once upon a time, at a wedding, I broke my Nikkor 55-200 f/4.0-5.6VR lens. A plastic bit (approximately 2x2x10mm) used to mount the lens to the body snapped off, to be accurate. This damage made it impossible for the lens to sit firmly so I sent it to the service by a courier.
After a week, having not heard from them, I decided to ring them up and find out how things were going. Unfortunately, it wasn't as easy as one could expect. It is near to a miracle to phone through. However, after many hours, I made it. I was then told that they just got the lens and the repair was going to cost 130PLN(including postage to me). Having no choice, I agreed. The lens came back to me a week later. The mount was replaced and it works fine. But I receved two lens caps and a brand new bellows. Why? What for? I don't know. Who paid for it? Obviously, me.
