I picked it up after approx. 2 weeks, but as I didn't have any batteries with me I couldn't check if it worked or not (they didn't have any batteries in the service). At home I put some batteries, powered the camera up and it turned out... taht the view-finder didn't work. I put the camera into the bag and then back into the cupboard. I went for holiday, came back, July passed, August passed and in September I took the camera back to the service. Approx. 2 weeks later they informed me that the warranty was cancelled and the cost of repair was 739.12PLN! According to the repair estimate, humidity generated main board corrosion and the board had to be replaced. I requested any photos of that corrosion. I received one picture which showed someone had tried to replace SMD elements and spots of spilled colophony (I'm an electronics engineer by trade, so I know what an overheated tin looks like). I e-mailed them back their picture with damages made by their employee highlighted and never received response to that. After I phoned and e-mailed them, I received an e-mail message with exactly the same repair cost estimate. translation: Marek Pietrzyk

In December 08 (just before Christmas) I bought a coolpix P60 (I wanted to havea view-finder). I took some shots, put the camera in a beautiful Lowepro bag and pyt it away into a cupboard (dry and dark place). Eneloop batteries ensured, that the camera would be ready to use at any time. The next oportunity to use it was in May 09. It turned out that the view-finder didn't work. I was taking my shots uing only the LCD screen. Before I went away for my holiday in June, I delivered the camera to the famous Service in Warsaw.
