The case was about adjusting BF/FF in a D200 still under a warranty. The problem wasn't massive, but clearly visible with fast lenses. After many attempts to get through service's phone, I rang up one of an office numbers and asked to be put through directly to the service, where I was asked to deliver the camera to the service. The repair timeframe was supposed to be 14 days and after 14 days I picked it up together with a receipt saying 'AutoFocus system calibration'. I didn't check anything at the spot as the conditions weren't very good, I didn't have much time and trusted the official service station.

Just a few days after that, I was sure that there were absolutely no changes to the way AF worked. It still didn't focus where I wanted. I didn't bother to ring the service and went there myself. I explained the circumstances to some not very polite guy that took the camera without a word of comment and gave me a receipt with a 14 day repair timeframe. Having noticed my annoyance to waiit another two weeks he said they would try their best to sort it out as soon as possible.
I rang up the service 5 days after having left the camera there - 'it still isn't ready', 'the technician still hasn't seen it'... Another phonecall after another 5 days - 'it still isn't ready, the technician is checking it over, we're waiting for an expertise'. Another phonecall- two weeks after leaving the body for repair. Still not ready - 'some brackets are required, we don't have them in stock, we're waiting for delivery...'. Everytime I was assured I would have received a call when the gear was ready. After three weeks I rang them up again. A polite lady said, it would be ready to collect the next day and I could come. By the end of next working day, without any calls prior to that, I went to the service to pick up my camera. And it wasn't ready! As an effect to a nervous discussion, I collected my gear the next day. On the receipt that was attached it said 'AutoFocus system calibration'...
EPILOGUE
The fault hasn't been fixed after one and a half month the camera spent at the service. I haven't noticed the FrontFocusing being any smaller. I have noticed two pretty big bits of dust on the focusing screen instead - one of them is still there.
I finally have decided to have the camera fixed in one of non-official services in Warsaw town centre. Firstly, they didn't want to take it for the warranty reasons. After my declaration of warranty renunciation, the camera was taken in for repair. On the very next day, a technician rang me up and asked if I was sure to remove safety seals - I confirmed. Few days later I picked up my camera from the service. THERE WAS NO FEE FOR THAT (?!) I paid them back by bringing in quite a lot of my company gear for check-ups and cleaning. regarding the focusing fault in my camera, it was made small enough to use the body with fast lenses. Now, nothing can convince me to have my gear repaired at Official Nikon Service in Warsaw.
