Less than two years ago I bough a brand new Nikon D200 in a shop. My happines didn't last too long, the body had a Back Focus problem with 80-200/2.8 lens. I checked with some other tele lenses and all of them were backfocusing.
I described the fault exactly and shipped the camera to the service. When it came back it worked graet with tele lenses but it was impossible to use it with 24 and 50mm lens (these were the only ones I had at that time). All that was left was to visit the service. Thats when the fun began.

I went to the service few times, everytime they calibrated AutoFocus so that there was either FF or BF. they claimed the camera was ok because test pictures were fine. It didn't matter that I took my own pictures and showed them proving that the camera wasn't working properly. They always replied that the camera was checked according to theit test procedures and it was good. Many times I wanted to call them names... My struggle with the service didn't help me at all, only made me more nervous. AutoFocus still wasn't working correctly, the camera was comapred to other D200s, tested with varios lenses and it was all the same. I had no choice and replaced it with a D300, which seems to be working much better. Still not excellent, but nothing is perfect (except for D2H) and I'm aware of that.
