So, I've just been to the service with my D700 to have rubber pads replaced. Suprisingly (although that's the way it should always be) everything went nice and smooth. When I asked if the pads would be replaced under a warranty claim, I received an obvious answer: no. I mentioned Nikon Poland's e-mail, stating that if the pads weren't mechanically damaged they shall be replaced.
The guy went to the back of the store and few moments later came back saying that, despite this being a bit dodgy, they would have replaced them under a warranty (worth mentioning that fixationuk.com said they would have done it without any problem-correspondence can be viwed at any time). Having filled out all the paperwork, I said I wasn't living in Warsaw and asked if they could do the job straight away. Ok, no problems-they said. Please wait approx 4 hours. Two hours later I received a phone call- camera was ready to be picked up. On collection I saw the pads were replaced (thumb one certainly, not quite sure about the front one- possibly they just glued it). The receipt stated they were both replaced. Nevermind, main thing for me was that it all looked ok. I checked the rest of the camera- they didn't damage anything else.
My question is, wether there is any warranty on warranty repairs, just in case the pads start to come off in the same places.

EDIT:
I might have glorified them too early. Just took my camera out of a bag and the pads were off in exactly the same place as prior to the repair (left front one). And they have only done it yesterday...
I rang the service a while ago. Managed to phone through at second attempt. The bloke requested repair ID and said he would ring me back. So he did just a moment ago, apologised and said they will do it once again (I only have 200 km to the service).
I find it highly incompetent. If they can't replace rubber pads properly, I don't even want to think what happens when they get a more serious problem...
